LIM BOON KHAI (KELVIN)

LIM BOON KHAI (KELVIN) is a senior partner of the firm. He holds a Masters degree in Islamic Banking Finance and Management from Universiti Brunei Darussalam and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Australia. He is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia, an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam and a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. 

Kelvin is a member of the U.K. Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators and Arbitration Association of Brunei Darussalam. He has been a member of various establishments including the Law Society of Western Australia, Law Society of England and Wales, the Australia Institute of Management and Chartered Institute of Company Directors. He was involved in the setting up of the Centre of Islamic Banking Finance and Management under the Ministry of Finance (subsequently Authoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam) and the Honorary Legal Adviser to the Brunei Australia Association and the Brunei Chinese Temple. He was an inaugural Council member of the Law Society of Brunei Darussalam. 

He has more than 25 years of legal practice experience, and his major areas of practice are in joint ventures, property and finance, securities, corporate advisory and dispute resolution and energy. Kelvin can converse in Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and Hokkien.

LIM RUI

LIM RUI has notable experience in civil and corporate litigation including banking litigation, insolvency and winding-up, insurance matters, intellectual property, commercial matters as well as matters involving Probate and Administration, Matrimonial and Family matters. He has advised financial institutions, insurance companies and Government linked companies on various legal matters and also advised on corporate matters both locally and abroad.

Lim Rui was admitted to practice at the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam in 2006. He has obtained his Masters degree in Business Administration from University of Wales, United Kingdom and was appointed an associate of the Chartered Institute & Arbitrators, United Kingdom.

He was the principal of Lim Rui & Associates before joining Raed Lim. Lim Rui is a past-Treasurer of the Law Society of Brunei Darussalam and was a council member of the Law Society of Brunei Darussalam from 2007 to 2016.

Lim Rui exudes a high level of professionalism in every aspect of undertaking for clients. He strives to provide legal, practical and holistic solutions, understanding the importance of the underlying emotions and history of every dispute.

NAVRITA KAUR

NAVRITA KAUR holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours from the University of Reading, United Kingdom and obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice from Malaysia. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam in December 2018.

Navrita has obtained a certificate in Oil and Gas Law from Professional Plus Series Brickfields Asia College and a certificate in Intellectual Property from WIPO Academy. She is currently a council member of the Law Society of Brunei Darussalam and the Head of the Legal Advice Clinic.

Navrita has experience in a diverse area of practice, including general civil and commercial litigation, debt recovery and bankruptcy/insolvency matters, intellectual property, Islamic banking and finance law, probate and administration, matrimonial and family matters, personal injury matters, contract vetting and corporate matters such as incorporation of companies.

Navrita is experienced to handle both contentious and non-contentious matters but places emphasis on resolving disputes amicably, prior to litigating. She has recently qualified as an ADR ODR International Accredited Civil/Commercial Mediator and is part of the panel of mediators for Brunei Darussalam Arbitration Centre.

CEDRIC LOO

CEDRIC LOO holds a LL.B (Hons) degree from Keele University, United Kingdom. He was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law (Inner Temple) in 2019 upon completing his Bar Professional Training Course at Cardiff University, United Kingdom, and thereafter was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam in 2021.

Cedric’s experience encompasses a wide array of general civil litigation. He is an essential part of the litigation team and had assisted the Firm in various matters relating to Civil and Commercial litigation.

Impassioned to provide clients with bespoke and creative solutions, Cedric’s portfolio comprises of corporate and commercial litigation, matrimonial and family matters, contractual disputes, insolvency, debt recovery, winding up and liquidation of companies.

SITI NADIRAH BINTI HAJI ABD RAHIM

SITI NADIRAH graduated from the University Islam Sultan Sharif Ali Brunei Darussalam in 2020 where she obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Bachelor of Shariah Laws (BSL). She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam in 2022.

Throughout her course of employment with the Firm, Siti Nadirah has been heavily involved in assisting the Firm in commercial litigation, estate matters as well as civil litigation matters. She also handles legal transactions involving sale and purchase of properties and transfer of ownership.

Siti Nadirah ventured into syariah litigation practice and obtained her certificate of admission in 2022. Her experience in handling syariah matters includes Muslim estate matters.
